PlayStation Fitness Tracker?! Sony & Xiaomi Team Up

Hold up, PlayStation fans! Sony is celebrating 10 years of PlayStation in China with a surprising new product: a PlayStation-branded fitness tracker. And guess what? It's a collaboration with Xiaomi, based on the popular Xiaomi Smart Band 9 Pro.

PlayStation Meets Xiaomi: A Wearable Mashup

Unveiled on PlayStation China's Weibo account, this special edition tracker comes in a distinctive blue box. It's essentially a rebranded Xiaomi Smart Band 9 Pro, bringing together PlayStation's iconic branding with Xiaomi's wearable tech.

What's Different? It's All About the Strap

At first glance, the PlayStation version looks very similar to the standard Xiaomi Smart Band 9 Pro. The main difference? The strap! It features PlayStation's famous button symbols (Triangle, Circle, Cross, and Square) along with the PlayStation logo. The box also includes a plain black strap, a commemorative card, and a charging cable. Sony hasn't confirmed any PlayStation-specific software tweaks yet.

Under the Hood: Familiar Xiaomi Tech

The PlayStation fitness tracker inherits all the key features of the Xiaomi Smart Band 9 Pro. This means you get a 1.74-inch OLED screen with a 60Hz refresh rate and 1200 nits of brightness for excellent visibility. The aluminum body is water-resistant up to 5 ATM, making it suitable for swimming. It's also lightweight (24.5 grams) and slim (10.8 millimeters), ensuring all-day comfort.

Fitness Features: Everything You'd Expect

As a fitness tracker, it offers standard features like heart rate monitoring, SpO2 tracking, sleep tracking, and menstrual cycle tracking. Plus, it supports over 150 sports modes and GPS tracking. The battery life is impressive, lasting up to 21 days on a single charge.

Limited Edition and Likely China-Exclusive

Sony hasn't announced plans to sell this PlayStation-themed fitness tracker outside of China. Given that limited-edition PlayStation items often remain regional exclusives, it's unlikely to be available worldwide. However, for PlayStation fans in China, this could be a unique and collectible item.
